The magical legend of the Golem, long associated with Prague in the reign of Rudolf II, acquires yet another dimension in a new treatment by writer Martin Vopěnka and illustrator Renáta Fučíková. In this book, Kabbalah meets astronomy and alchemy, with a message of peace for the present day.

Martin Vopěnka (1963) is a Jewish writer and thinker who writes in Czech. His work is geared towards children, young people, and adults. The main current of his literary output consists of epic stories set in the distant future. His books have been translated into thirteen languages. His novels My Brother the Messiah, The Fifth Dimension, and My Journey to the Back of Beyond as well as an educational book called Václav Havel-The Power of the Powerless in the 20th Century were published into English language. He has received several prizes for his work.

Renáta Fučíková (1964) is a well-known Czech illustrator, author, and university teacher. She has won a series of international awards for her unique artistic conception of books (particularly with historical themes), such as the Grand Prix at the Biennale in Zagreb for the book Franz Kafka-A Man of His Time and Our Own, and she was nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for her original book A History of Europe.
